Awaab’s Law – Key Legal Timeframes

• Emergency hazards:
  Must be made safe within 24 hours

• Significant damp and mould:
  Investigation must begin within 10 working days

• Written findings:
  A written report must be provided within 3 working days of the investigation

• Post-investigation actions:
  Identified hazards must be made safe within 5 working days

• Preventing recurrence:
  Remedial works to prevent damp and mould returning must begin within 12 weeks
